Sunday's in Virginia

Here in Virginia we have had a hard time getting used to Sunday's around here. We are used to spending them at the Flat for the last 4 years. So trying to keep us all entertained is hard work. This last sunday we went on a nature walk and then went on the swings for a little bit. The kids love being outside and able to run around.

Christmas Time

Chirstmas this year was a little crazy. We were moving and our house was in the U-haul. Susie and Daniel were kind of nice to let us have Christmas at their house. We went over to Shelly's house for New Year's Eve. We ate lots of yummy food, watched the movie about Jesus and the meaning of Christmas and of course we played the chimes. After their house we went and looked at Christmas lights. On the way home we looked up to see Rudolph's nose and the kids saw a red dot in the sky. They wanted to go home right away and get in bed. They knew that Santa was getting close.

Christmas Day is kind of a blur. With 5 kids going crazy we didnt get any pictures but it was so fun seeing them so excited about all of the presents. Gage got walkie talkies and a remote control car from Santa, Tippy got walkie talkies and a Dora that sings and Ava got a baby from Santa. We then had to pack up all the toys in the U-haul and Caleb and to start his journey across the Country. We then got the kids ready and Susie and I took the older kids to Church and Daniel stayed home with the younger 2 who need a nap really bad.

Camping in Zions

Over the Summer we went up to the Stout's Cabin with Suzy and Daniel and Soph and T.J. We got a later start then we wanted and ended getting up there around 11 at night. We hung out that next day and came home that evening. It was so fun just to hang out, eat A LOT, shoot guns, go on the four-wheeler.

Little Mrs. Muffet

This year for Tippy's dance recital the theme was Little Mrs. Muffet. She really improved and learned alot this year. She always said that Mrs. Mikki was a hard teacher but she really like her. I would ask her what was hard and she would show me the stretches they would do. After every dance practice she would come home and show us the moves she learned. I have really enjoyed watching Tippy grow and come out of her shell and I think that dance has helped!

Movie in the Park

This Friday we decided to take the kids to the movie in the park. We went to the splash pad for a while then we went and had dinner in the park and the kids got to choose the treats they wanted. Caleb also took the kids on the carousel and then we settled in to watch the movie. Right when the previews started they cancelled the movie because of lightning. It was a fun night and we might even do it again. Oh and we love that Soph stopped by to see us.

Fourth of July

For the 4th we decided to take a quick trip down to California. Amber came with us and it was so much fun with her and she was a huge help with our kids. Our plan was to stay the night in Vegas but missed our exit so we kept driving until we got to california. We were so tired around 2 am so we found a hotel that Caleb thought would be cheap. Lets just say I couldn't sleep in the bed and Amber slept on her towel. This hotel was nasty and it was $70. First mistake of the trip. We woke up early from that hotel and went straight to the ocean. I forgot my camera there but the kids loved it. They played and played. We stayed there until Ava would not take it any longer. She was so grumpy the WHOLE trip. We hung out the rest of the night at the hotel. On Sunday we went back to the Ocean and looked for parking for 3 hours. I was so sick of it so we dropped Caleb off and Amber and I went back to the hotel and went swimming for a couple of hours and then went to pick Caleb back up. Monday we went swimming again and then drove home. When we got home we hurried and did a couple of sparklers and then we all went to bed.

Wally and Wanda came to visit us from Tazmania. They were a family in Caleb's mission and grew close to them throughout is mission. So when they came to the states on a trip they called us and we were so excited to meet them. The kids fell instantly in love and wouldn't let them out of their sites. We took them to the red rocks, Texas Roadhouse and we went swimming a bunch and of course Zions. I was gone all weekend at a basketball tournament but I loved the time I got to spend with them. It makes Caleb Want to go back to his mission now. Maybe someday, Hopefully!

To Grandma's House We Go!

We went to Boise last month to babysit Heather's boys while her and Mr. Wheeler went on a cruise. It was so fun having all the cousins together. We had a lot planned, like always I over booked my trip, we went to the jump house, went horse back riding, went to dinner with friends, visited all the grandparents and family, swimming, Chuck E Cheese, Scavenger hunts, the list goes on and on.. So I hardly took pictures seeing as I was trying to watch 5 kids all the time. I can honestly say I NEVER want 2 sets of twins right in a row, or any twins for that matter. Kuddos to those who have twins, it is hard work

Easter Week

This Easter was so fun. Amber came down from Salt Lake and stayed with us for the weekend. On Saturday we went up to Smith's with the Stout's. We had a BBQ and hung out and rode four wheelers. We had to show her the hole in the rock. I get so claustrophobic when we go in there but its fun to look at. We also had an easter egg hunt and the kids loved it...and maybe I did too!!

Sunday came and so did the Easter bunny. He brought lots more eggs and fun little presents. After the kids found all the eggs we had to hurry and go to church. I love easter and reflecting on the Resurrection. We asked the kids after church what they learned and Gage said "We learned about Jesus and CANDY, I Love Candy" I'm glad we got the message across to him. Maybe next year!!

Valentines Day

For Valentines this year our friends got a limo for their parent's anniversary and we had an hour left so we took full advantage and went around town and dinner in the limo. Everywhere was closed in St. George so we ended at In N Out. It was a lot of fun and a little embarrassing, getting out when people were looking was really hard!!

St.George Half Marathon

About a month ago Bryan called and said he signed up for the 1/2 marathon and that Caleb and I should do it with him. I said heck no but we will come and cheer him on. Well a couple of days later my dad called and said that he and my mom are running the race and that if I could beat my mom he would give me $200. Well if you know me I will do almost anything for money so of course I said YES right away. Three weeks ago I started training and I would run 2 to 3 times a week. My goal was to get under 2 hours and to beat my mom of course. Well I cut it pretty close. My time was 2 hours exactly and I beat my mom by about 3 minutes. I was so lucky because by mile 11 I was dead. I am so sore and will probably be for a week but I am glad that I ran it with my family. P.S - David ran the 5k and got 5th in his age group and 52 out of almost 600 people. He did so awesome. And my Dad beat my me by about 5 minutes.

Ava 7 months

I can't believe my baby is 7 months. She is the best baby ever. She sleeps 13 hours at night and takes 2 naps during the day, (she pretty much just sleeps all the time) She is growing so fast and loves to eat. She is army crawling all over. She will crawl to where Gage and Tip are and play with them. I am so grateful for her and that she came to our family!!

Salt Lake

We went to Salt Lake this weekend for a little vaca. We saw the Blauer's and their new little addition. She really is the cutest thing ever. We went to Texas Roadhouse with them and had so much fun as always. We stayed at my grandparents or as my kids call them Grandma and Grandpa with the apple. My kids love them and always love going to visit. We sure love going there and spending time with them. We had fun up there but are glad to be home again.

Are these girls stinking cute!! Ava is everywhere these days and she is the happiest little thing ever. Tippy is the best helper I could ask for and whenever Ava sees her she starts smiling and laughing. Love them!!

Christmas Time

We had an awesome Christmas this year. We had to wake the kids up at 7:30 because Caleb had to work at 8:00. The kids are at such a fun age that Christmas was a blast. After we opened presents Caleb had to leave for work. The kids played with their toys while I took the Christmas decorations down. We then went to Roma's and hung out there the rest of the day. We then went and played basketball later that night with all the Stout's. We were bummed Caleb had to work but we are thankful that the Stout's have taken us in like family. Oh and Caleb got me a camera for Christmas so hopefully I can keep up on the blog more.

First Day of Preschool

Today was Tippy's first day of preschool and she was so excited. She has been wanting to go to school since last year. We walked in to class today and she knew almost everyone and I think that will help her not to be so shy in school. I cannot believe that my little girl is growing up so fast. She has been the easiest child and is so fun. I love that her little personality and I am so proud of her. I Love you Tip!!!

3 Weeks!!

Ava is 3 weeks and she is growing like a weed. She already weighs 8 1/2 lbs. The other day we were at Carly's house and she took some awesome pictures of Ava (since I don't have a camera) Thanks Carly!!!

The kids are adjusting well to Ava. They both really love her BUT Gage is quite rough with her. He means well but is a boy so what do I expect. The other day I went outside to talk on the phone so I could hear and Gage comes running outside yelling "Mom look i am holding Ava, Look I am doing so good!!!" That was a close one. I am just glad he didnt drop her.

As I am typing right now Gage is grabbing her hand and hitting her in the face and laughing. I swear I am going to have to always be watching that kid!!

And the best for last...We were in the car the other day and Gages carseat is right next to Ava's, Gage got really excited and said "Mom Ava loves eating my boogers" Really, what am i supposed to do with that kid?!!? All I know is that Ava is going to be one tough cookie.

The Story

Okay this is mainly for my memory so if you dont want to read all of the birthing details just skip on down to the pictures and i will not be offended.
So we got called on June 18th and 5:30 in the morning and was told to be at the hospital in an hour. So we got up from the most awful nights sleep ever ( i mean who can really sleep the night before you know you are going to have a baby the next day anyways?) and went straight to the hospital. We did all the paper work and they finally put me on PIT and we finally got started. When we went into the hospital I was at a 4. so Doctor Ott came in at 10:00 and broke my water and and then at about 10:45 i decided to get an epideral. I went into this labor not deciding if I wanted to get one or not but once the contractions started to get bad I wussed out and boy and I glad i did. It was easy after that, just waiting. My mom came to the hospital and about 11 and we were talking and about 1230 I all of the sudden felt a TON of pressure. I told Caleb to get a nurse because I HAVE TO PUSH and NOW!! So he want and got a nurse and about 5 or 6 came running in. The nurse said dont push until the doctor comes. So he was there about 5 minutes later and I pushed through one contraction, I pushed once for the head and once for the shoulders. Ava was born at 12:46 and she has been an angel of a baby so far.

On Friday the 18th of June, at 12:46 Ava Joan Steele was born. She weighed 6 pounds 8ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. It was a quick labor. She has really long fingers and is always sucking on them. We're really excited she's here!

Most of you know but for those of you who who don't we are expecting another little girl. We are due June 25th. We are so excited for her to come. I think the kids are the most excited. Tippy loves to come to our appointments to hear the baby's heart beat and Gage every morning comes in and gives my belly a hug and tells the baby that he loves her. It is seriously so cute. I have a lot to do before this baby comes but we cannot wait.

Christmas

This year we stayed home for Christmas, it was quite but it was fun to be able to be our little family. We opened presents in the morning and the kids played with their toys all afternoon. Later that night we went to Carly and Robbie's house with a few other couples and had an awesome Christmas Dinner. The boys then gor called up to work and they were there untul about one in the morning. It was a fun Christmas we are greatful for all of our family and friends that we got to share it with.

Dance

We put Tippy in dance last year and she has loved every minute of it. She loves to come home and show us what she learned that day. It is the cutest thing and in December she performed in the Nutcracker. Her class were the Russian Dancers and she was so mad that she had to get off the stage. She wants to go back and do the recital again every week.

Some of you may now that I am not a birthday person, I really struggle with Birthday's and Gage's was no exception. I don't think we bought him anything and we didn't do a cake. Thanks goodness for Grandparents. Gage loved all of his presents. I can't believe that he is already two,man how time flies. Tippy and Gage love when we get presents in the mail. they ask everyday if we can go check the mail to see if there are any presents.

Holy Cow we haven't had a computer for so long and now we just bought one and so I can finally blog again. This will probably be a long post since I have so much to catch up on. I am so excited to finally be back in the blog world again.

I will start with our trip to California all the way back in October. Caleb's family was going to Disneyland and we decided to meet up with them. We didn't want to go to Disneyland but of course we spent our days at the beach. We would wake and go in the morning and stay there until it was dark. Our kids loved it more then anything and to this day they still are talking about it.

We went to Rainforest Cafe and the kids were pretty scared at first and then they warmed up to it pretty fast. After we were done eating the kids saw a carousal and they HAD to go on it. They loved every part of California and they ask to go back to the beach all of the time.

Carly babysat today when I went to work and when the kids came home Tippy was so proud of her hair. She kept saying "mom I want my hair in ponies everyday" So it looks like I will be taking Tippy over to Carly's to get her hair done everyday. Thanks Carly for saving the day, the kids had a blast.

Broken Down

So on the way back to Utah from California the Wilkins car kept over heating. We stopped at a rest stop for about 2 hours and then drove to Baker California and went to a mechanic. He told us we wouldn't be able to make it 10 miles so we got in the car and we were going to try to make it to Las Vegas, which was 100 miles away. We went to the gas station and stocked up on water and we headed off. We had to stop every 10 miles to fill our car full of water. We made it to Vegas at about 11 at night and so we decided to make the most of it. We got a hotel on the strip and we went to a Yummy dinner. We got up at in the morning and Stuart Stout came to rescue us. He came down in a Semi truck and we loaded the car on its trailer. Christy and Tucker rode in their car and Caleb and I were in the semi truck. I was on a bucket for the 3 hour trip. lets just say I was so ready to get out of there. It took us 6 hours to get to California and on the way back it took us 13 hours to get all the way home. It was so worth it though. It was a fun adventure and I am glad we were went through it with the Wilkins, they may be the funniest couple I know. Their humor helped when we were stuck on the side of the rode in 115 degree weather. Sorry about your car Wilkins, hopefully next time we go we will have a car that we wont have to worry about!!!

5 Whole Years

I can not believe that we have been married for 5 years. It has gone by sooo fast that is seems like we were just married, but like everyone says it feels like forever. I can't wait to see what the next 5 years will bring us. I can not imagine my life without Caleb. He is the best Husband ever. He is so supportive in all my weird ideas and he is the best dad ever. The kids adore him almost as much as I do:)

Anyways, for out anniversary we went to California with the Wilkins and mom came to babysit the kids. We had such a blast, it was a good thing our kids weren't with us or we may not ever have come back. We were in California for 3 days and we went to the beach every day. The girls mostly laid out while the boys got beat up by the ocean.
While we were there the waves were a record 28 ft. high and someone died while we were there and so the lifeguards were paranoid so we couldn't go out too far. I got stuck only one time, the riptide was so strong I couldn't swim back in and the waves kept getting me and so Caleb had to swim out and get me. That was the only scary thing that happened the whole trip.
I think Tucker threw up 3 or 4 times from swallowing so much ocean water. He would come up from being pummelled by the waves and he would be coughing and would threw up. It was pretty Hilarious.
The last day there we went to the U.S. Open surf competition and those people are pretty amazing surfers. It was fun for a little bit but there were to many CRAZIES there so we decided to go do our own thing. It was a fun getaway and I hope we can do it every year.

Toquerville Falls

We went to Toquerville Falls a couple of weeks ago with Kade, Mary and the Stouts. It was so fun we wish we could go every weekend. The kids have a blast and Matt even brought his homemade canoe for all of us to try. Thanks for coming we need to go again pretty soon.

New Hair Cut

Caleb cut Gage's hair a couple of weeks ago and boy is Caleb proud of it. I wasn't so sure about it at first but I think it has grown on me a little bit. I wanted to blog about it because I am hoping this is the last mohawk in our family for a LONG time.

4th of July

We had an awesome forth of July. We started the day off with the Hurricane parade. We then went to the Hank's house for breakfast and then later that night we went to the flood street park in St.George. We hung out for most of the evening there, eating snow cones, riding swings, playing at the park,m and hanging out with awesome friends. We were a little nervous that our kids would freak out during the fire works, right when they started Tippy came running from the bathrooms and was screaming "Mom I didn't cry!!!" She was so proud of herself, it was so cute. Gage did really good, he got really hyper and was running around everywhere, It was a little scary just because there were so many people but other then that he was awesome. We had a wonderful night and we are glad we spent it with awesome friends.

I wanted to just post a little thought for the forth of July on the blog letting my little family know how thankful I am for this beautiful country that I live in. I love this time of year that we get to reflect not only on our country but also on the pioneers and how hard they worked for us and for this country. At church today as I was listening to the testimonies being born I took the chance to reflect on my own testimony and especially this wonderful place where we live.

Happy Birthday Grandma!!! I just wanted to write a little post about my grandma Swensen. She is the most generous person I have ever met. She is one of only a few people I know that will not judge you not matter what is going on in your lives. She will love you no matter what. Growing up she was always do things for other people. I remember we would go over for Sunday dinner and she would never sit down and eat, she was always delivery food to other people in the ward or helping one of us kids. She is also one of the hardest workers EVER!!! She loves to do things on her own and not ask for help.
I have really missed being so close to my grandma. I loved living close and going over there all the time. I even lived with her for a little while in High School. I miss those times with her.
Grandma, thanks for always being there for me, I really need your Mac and Cheese recipe because it is the best thing ever invented. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!! I LOVE YOU

Father's Day

We didn't really celebrate father's day because we got home Sunday night from Boise and I was exhausted. Caleb's present is still on its way so i can't show you what it is yet. I just wanted to tell Caleb what a awesome husband and father he is. He is the hardest worked I have ever met. I am so grateful for him and all that he does for our little family. I am glad that I am married to such an awesome guy. I love you Caleb.

My dad is also the best dad around. He is always there for me and makes sure that I have someone to talk to if I need him. I love that he genuinely cares about every little thing about me and my family. Thanks for letting my kids sleep with you this week, I know how you like your sleep!!!

We went over the Mark and Michelle's house while in Boise. We roasted hot dogs and marshmellows, we rode horses, watched them milk a cow, we had so much fun. Tippy and Gage loved every part of the evening. I think Tippy could live at Grandma and Grandpa's house, she loves all of the animals and just being outside. Tessia and Dallas were awesome and always helping the kids with whatever they needed. It was the perfect night to just sit outside and relax.

My dad got invited to go see the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses at the Idaho Center, so we tagged along. They were so Huge. I wish the picture would show just how huge they were. They never stopped scratching each others backs.It was pretty cute. The kids favorite thing was the Dalmatian dog.

Iron Man

My mom ran in the Iron Man last weekend. She has been training for this for at least 6 months probably longer. She did so good. We were all waiting for her when she had 6 miles left. She blew her knee out and could barely walk. Every time she would try to run it would give out. She ended up having to quit with 6 miles left. She did so good, I am so proud of her. Caleb and Aaron (Caleb's brother) painted on their chests for my mom. Aren't they sweet!!!

So i just registered for my classes for the fall semester. I am already stressed out when I think about it. I am going to have to drive into town 3 times a week and try to find a babysitter for all 3 days. Hopefully it will work out, if not I might just have to quit!! I am taking some elective classes so hopefully I can figure out what I want get my degree in. I am taking a nutrition class, criminal justice class, and a physical therapy assistant class. Maybe these will help me figure out what I am going to do.
Sorry this is a boring post but I needed to vent a little and when I write things down it makes me feel a little better.

Pool day

We finally made it to the pool. We have been wanting to go to the pool since the beginning of may and we finally did it. We went with Susie and LaRae. Gage wasn't sure about it in the beginning but after a little while he warmed up to it. My kids favorite part was the warm shower (that was always mine too!!) I think Addy was the one to love it the most, she didnt ever want to stop. Tippy also loved it and was pretty brave. It was a fun afternoon, hopefully we will do it again!!

Memorial Day

We went to Megan and Ephriam's house for a Memorial BBQ. The kids loved playing outside and we loved watching them. It was so nice to relax and hang out. Thanks Hanks for a wonderful evening and YUMMY food.

Park Time

We went to the park with B.J and Cameo yesterday and we took a few goofy pictures of our kids. The first one shows Tippy playing hard. The second picture I am trying to get Gage to hang on the monkey bars. Usually he will hang on forever and other times he thinks it is fun to let go right away. Sometimes we catch him, and sometimes we don't!!! (Only a few times have we not caught him, we have learned to pay really close attention now)

Vegas Baby!!!

On Friday ward basketball regions started and we were going in as first seed. Not because we won but because the first place team dropped out and so there we are. We won on Friday by 2 points. it was a close game but we did it. Now on to semi finals. It was at 8:00 on Saturday morning way to early but we made it and it was a rough game. We lost by 3 points and we came home with some pretty big bruises. I think that we all had fun though.(well at least I did)
Anyways after the game Robby and Carly were going to Vegas and so we decided to go down with them. We started to meet them at the outlet malls but our car started over heating. YEAH for crappy cars!!!
we finally made it to the mall and did some walking around. I think Caleb was actually the only person to buy something. that is unusual.

Then we went to the Rio Hotel and ate at a buffet. It was a pretty good buffet, I especially loved the dessert. Caleb and Robbie especially loved the dancing Girls. Just Joking but there were really girls dancing .
Can you believe that they have platforms where naked girls dance on in the middle of the Casinos. I had never seen that before. weird. Anyways it was a fun day trip to Vegas and by the time dinner was done the kids were SOOO ready to go home and we were ready to get out of the smoky, dirty casino.

On Saturday we went and took some family pictures. Suzy is so good at letting us take advantage of her, especially on Valentines Day. So the kids were okay for some of the time, I think that we got a few good pictures.

Learning Time

I started school last week and boy am I in for a treat. I am taking 3 classes and I was so nervous to start school again after almost 5 years of not going. I haven't used my brain like that for ever and it is a little intimidating going and having 18-19 year old kids in there who have been in school their whole lives.
Anyways things are going good but I am supposed to be doing homework and I cant seem to start it. I am so excited to be going back to school I just have one problem. I really have no idea what I want to do. This next semester I am done with generals and then I need to pick a major. UH-HO I have no Idea. I keep changing my mind and I really have no idea. so I am very open to suggestions. HELP Me PLEASE.

Slacker

I have been such a slacker lately because my camera plug is gone. i just dont enjoy blogging as much when there are no pictures to show.

Christmas we stayed here in Hurricane and had Christmas with our little family. It was fun but a little sad not to be with family. On Christmas Eve we went to the Stouts and had dinner and the kids acted out the nativity and we had a pinata.
Christmas day the kids woke up around 9:00 and we opened presents. We played with them until nap time and then for dinner we went up to the Zion lodge. It was fun and relaxing to be with our little family.

for New Years we went up to Cedar city and hung out with the Holm's. We got a babysitter and went out to Chili's . I dont think i have eaten that much in a long time. We then when back and played games and ate ALOT of junk food. B.J. had to work at 12 so we left a little bit before the new year but it still was a blast to hang out with friends. Thanks holms for having us up there.

A Visit to the ER

We took Tippy to the ER while we were in Idaho. She was outside in the garage and tripped on the mat. David was out there and carried her in. I immediately grabbed my wallet and told my dad lets go. He said it wasn't a big deal and to calm down so we gave her some medicine and I laid her down on my parents bed. We laid there for a while and when she was calmed and fell asleep we tried to butterfly her forehead shut but it wasn't working. we had Grandma Ririe AKA Doctor Ririe over and she told us we needed to go to the hospital. so this happened at about 6 and finally around 9 we took her to the ER. Caleb was still in St.George so my dad went with me. We went right in and Tippy screamed the whole time. It took 3 nurses to hold her down. They wrapped her in a blanket and held her down. She was shaking and screaming so hard. It was so sad. She kept screaming the whole time "mommy I hold you, Mommy I hold you" By the end of it she got 7 stitches and I think she will forever hate doctors. And she has a pretty cool scar to always remember Grandpa's house.

Thanksgiving Week

So i have taken so long to post because i lost my cord for my camera but I will post some pictures shortly
I went home for Thanksgiving On Wednesday with Heather and her kids. We had a lot of fun traveling but glad that it is over with. We got home and we were busy the whole week and half that we were there. Caleb came up after work on Friday and drove all night.

We had thanksgiving with Caleb's Dad on Sunday. We love seeing everyone and Tippy loves her Grandparents. She loves going over to the Steele's and seeing all of the horses and other animals they have.

I went and saw twilight with some friends. I had so much fun with all the girls. I haven't had a girls night out for so long. I loved talking to Brennan, Crystal and Hailey just like old times.

On Thanksgiving day we went to Caleb's dads house for the Turkey shoot and of course the homemade french fries. We look forward to the turkey shoot all year round. And i am becoming a pretty good shooter if i do say so my self!! I hit 2 out of 3 clay pigeons. I even impressed my husband on that one.

We then went over to my parents house and had THE TURKEY DINNER. it was so good and it was so fun to be around everyone. Sundays are one of the things that we miss about not being in Idaho. We even got family pictures while we were there. we also played a lot of Nert's while we were there.
We then went to Caleb's moms house and had another Yummy dinner and played a ton of fun games and we did a lot of talking. I love going over to the Ririe's because that is Tippy's favorite place to be. She loves the girls and she misses them so much.

We are so grateful for all of our families and we had so much fun. we talked on the long trip home of how thankful we are for everything we have and especially for our family.

Birthday Weekend

**This post is going to be very long, we had a very busy weekend***

This week Tippy and I both celebrated our birthdays. My sisters and mom came down for Tippy's party and we had a blast. Heather, her boys and my mom came down on Thursday and they helped finish shopping for Tippy. Christy and Amber came down on Friday and we played games all night long.
Caleb went to the flat and butchered our pig with Adam and Larae. I was a little sad that i didnt get to help out but i was a little nervous to see our pig dead so i was okay with missing it.

We had Tippy's party at the Hanks house(THANKS MEGAN). I wanted to have it in a backyard and since ours in full of rocks Megan offered theirs and i gladly excepted. She did so much for us this weekend. Made all of the treats and decorated I couldnt have done it with out her.

Halloween Weekend

This weekend was so fun for us. On Friday we went to lunch with Camio and the boys and Jess. The kids played under this sign forever. Tippy loves playing with Spencer, she has been talking about it ever since.

That night we went to the Hanks and went trick-o-treating. It was so fun and all the kids were so cute. Tippy was scared only a little bit. By next year hopefully she will not be so scared.

This was at our house on Thursday before we went up to Caleb's work for a Halloween party. I didn't take my camera but there was big blow up slides and Tippy loved going down them all by her self. She was pretty excited to be a princess. She is a little confused though, every house she went up to she would say "look at my dress, i am a princess for my birthday, max is coming for m birthday" None one really understood what she was saying and would say Happy Halloween.

It was cute to see gage walk up to the doors with Tippy and just stand there and some people would hand in some candy. it was pretty cute. I couldn't get any pictures of gage and Tippy together. they weren't cooperating. We had a fun Halloween weekend and look forward to Tippy's birthday and our family coming down here to visit.

Pumpkin Carving

On Tuesday we went over to the Hanks house to carve pumkins. It was so fun and the kids love eachother. They play so good together and loved every minute of it. Tippy really loved her little pumkin too. She was in a kissing mood that night. She was kissing Noah and Andy.

The Flat

Caleb went up to Kolob last night for a Young Men's activity. They spent the day there today and came home this afternoon. I woke up at 6:00 to go to some yard sales with the kids. The kids did pretty good until Tippy had to go to the bathroom and we were no where close to a store. I started driving in the direction of a gas station and stopped at a couple of yard sales and I got up the courage to ask a guy if my daughter could use his bathroom and he had the audacity to say no. who says no to a 3 year old, how rude. Anyways by the time we got back in the car Tippy was screaming, crying, shaking and dancing the Potty dance, She had to go so bad.

By the time I got to a gas station she was frantic to go to the bathroom. We went to the restrooms and they were locked. We waited there for a minute or two and finally went and asked the cashier if we had to have a key and she came and unlocked it. Finally after FOREVER she got to go to the bathroom.

We got home and took a nap and then we headed out to the flat(Phyllis and Wynn Stout's House) where Caleb was and we hung out there the rest of the day. I love being out at the flat it really reminds me of Mark and Michelle's house. The kids can run around outside and not worry about them.

The boy's went out and picked the watermelon and put them in the backhoe. they got 4 loads in the backhoe for our pigs. The kids went with the boys and had a blast in the field and in the backhoe. We then went to feed the pigs and cows. I couldn't believe how much Gage and Tippy love the animals out there.

After we got done feeding the animals we were hungry ourselves. We went to dinner at JB's with the Stout's. Can I just tell you that I think that Wynn is the funniest Man alive. We are so grateful that the Stout's took us in as part of their family. It helps me not be as homesick. So thanks to all the Stout's for all the great times.

Pumkin Patch

On Monday we went to a pumpkin patch with the Hanks. We started off with Sonic and then headed to the Pumkin patch. When we got there the kids went on some tire swings that were in the shape of a horse. Tyler was to scared to go on them but noah and the other kids loved them. We then went on the hay ride out where the pumkins were.

After looking at the pumkins Tippy decided that she didnt want one because they all were too big. She wanted one that she could hold so we went back and played on the slides and the hay stacks. We also went on a cow train.

It was a lot of fun, the kids were worn out by running around all night. They loved all the fun things especially the slide. I love all the fun family traditions this time of the year.

Flying Weekend

On Friday night Christy and Tucker flew into Hurricane to spend the weekend with us. We went over to Larae and Adam's house to watch the BSU game. On Saturday Tucker took Caleb and B.J. on a flight around Zions and the Girls went shopping in town. We met the boys in St. George and went to Jumping Jacks with the Hanks and the Holmes.

When we got to Jumping Jacks, Tippy was terrified of some of the slides. We had to SLOWLY help her get used to them and then she was fine. She had so much fun with her friends there and loved going down the huge slides.

On Sunday Christy painted Tippy's nails and we had to take pictures of how cute the kids were being.

Park Time

It has been so nice outside lately that we have been taking advantage before it gets way to cold to do anything outside. We have been going to the park everyday and the kids love it. They love being outside and since the park is right next to us it makes it so easy and nice to go outside. I took some pictures before leaving the house seeing how caleb thinks that strollers are dumb and doesnt want to waste the money on one, so because i have to carry gage i dont like to take extra things to carry as well.

On Saturday was Gage's 1st birthday. We aren't much of birthday people but we made some cake and invited some family over. We got a package from Grandma Ririe that day and Tippy had fun helping Gage open it. Thanks to grandma and grandpa Ririe, Gage got some presents. (so did Tippy) Caleb and I don't buy birthday or Christmas presents. I know we are weird but we figure they have no idea what is going on yet so we will wait until they are older to buy things for them. And some people may say that i am the cheapest person alive. This shows my cheapness a little. So the Grandparents always take care of our kids on holidays.

Zion hike

Caleb's family came down to hurricane this weekend on their way to attend conference. On Thursday I went shopping with Mark Michelle and the kids. We met Caleb and went to dinner at Mongolian BBQ. On Friday we went on a hike to Zions park. We decided to hike Angles Landing. It is one of our favorites. We took t he whole family up the mountain. Gage and Tippy were both a little sleepy but they had fun. I waited at a stopping point with the kids and Caleb and his family finished the hike. It is way to scary to take kids all the way up. After Zion's we were all very sleepy. We came home and relaxed. I talked Mark into doing some chores around the house. He helped Caleb fix the toilet and the water and ice maker on the fridge. Michelle and the kids went swimming with Tippy. Mark and Caleb stayed home and watched an old western John Wayne movie. Mark told a few stories that night about the good old days. The next morning Susie and her husband came over and we made a big breakfast. Caleb's family left for Salt Lake after the first session of conference. Their visit made us excited to go home for Thanksgiving. It was fun having them down-- Tippy especially enjoyed having Papa and Grandma around. She liked the attention that she got from the kids as well. She misses them already. A few times after they left she asked me where Papa and Grandma went.

Tutu's

Susie and I have been wanting to make tutu's for a while now, so tonight we finally did. They turned out so cute and they were pretty easy to make. I am a little obsessed with black and pink and so of course I did Tippy's in black and pink. I think they turned out cute especially for our first ones. I got done with these right when Tippy was getting ready for bed, that is why she is half naked and a little homely but she is still so cute!!!!

Craft Day

Each week (well almost every week) we have a craft day at our friend Heidi's house. Susie, Larae, Jamie and I all come and work on projects we want done with Heidi's help of course. I have been working on a quilt for Tyler and we finally got it done. I say we because Heidi had to finish it for me because I was horrible at hand stiching the edges. It took a couple of months to finish and i am so excited that it is finally done. Basically i want to give a shout out to heidi for all of her help. Thanks a ton!! I love it

Fruit Flies

Because of our pigs that we, we have a bucket for all of our slop. We take it once a week or so to feed to the pigs. Last night i was putting some food in the bucket and noticed a couple of fruit flies flying around the bucket but of course i thought nothing of it. So we went to bed. I woke up and was going to make Gage a bottle and I saw hundreds of fruit flies. It was the grossest thing ever. i was screaming a spraying raid and then i hurried and left. I went to Susie's and waited for Caleb to come home for lunch and check on the house. I didn't want to go back home if there were bugs still in my house. Caleb came to the rescue AGAIN. So of course i had to take some pictures to show everyone how gross this really was. I wasn't exaggerating.

Okay so you have to look close but all of the spots are bugs. Sorry the pictures of a little blurring because i was freaking out.

Peek-a-boo

Gage is the funniest kid ever. He is so playful and hyper all of the time. it is so different having a boy then a girl. Tippy never got into anything and now we have Gage who gets into everything. He never stops moving. The other day he was playing peek-a-boo with me. He always climbs into the middle of the chairs and gets stuck.

A walk down memory lane

I want to be able to remember this move down here to St.George so i will write it on this blog. Caleb's cousin Suzy found us this job down here and so we packed up our belongings in a U-haul and came down here in December after Christmas. Caleb drove the haul and i followed behind in our van. We made it down here and were looking at apartments when the prison in Draper Utah called us. They wanted Caleb to work there for them. Caleb had been interviewing with them for months and of course they just decided to call us. Caleb told them that we just took a job and that he was sorry. They told him that they would increase his salary and they would pay off our student loans. How could we turn that down? Caleb came and told me what they said and i started bawling. i didn't want to move again. meanwhile we signed a lease for an apartment and put down $1000 for the deposit. Our car was behind the U-haul and so we turned the car jack in when we got to St. George and parked the car in a grocery store parking lot. So with that we decided to drive up to salt lake that night because he had to work the next day. I decided to get a head start so i left right away and Caleb had to rent the car jack again. So he went to do that and we were going to meet in Richfield because we had only one phone at the time. When we met there he had the car jack but no car. I had the car keys and the car was locked and so he just rented to car jack for $250 for nothing. oh yeah and we had to re rent the U-haul because it was due that day. So we got up to our friends the Blauer's house and had New Years Eve with them. They manage a storage unit so they let us have a storage unit for free and we moved our things into that until we found a place to live. Next, my grandparents let us live there for a little bit but after a couple of days i couldn't handle living in only one room so we talked to our friends the Handy's and they have a warehouse with 2 rooms for the truckers to stay in when they get there at nights. so we stayed in this warehouse for about a week before Caleb had to go to the prison. meanwhile he was getting everything done in order to be able to work there. Lie detector test, and written tests. His first day at work they were going through who he would be working with and he realized that he couldn't work there. His clients were so far gone that it was useless. One client had bitten off his fingers, chewed them up and was spitting them at the guards. Another client poked a hole in is stomach and was pulling is intestines out of his body. Caleb wanted to be able to help not babysit. And his boss there told him he no longer was going to be able to pay off our student loans. Caleb that night called the job in St. George and asked if he could still have his job. He said he could but he had to be there the next morning for training. I was bawling hysterically by now and was ticked off. there was no way i wanted to move again. So we prayed about it and we felt that we should move back there. So we decided that Caleb will go for the week and come back up to salt lake on the weekend and we would go. He would take shuttle down and drive our car that we forgot down there back up here. When he got back we went and got our things from the Blauer's and rented yet another U-haul and car jack and went and rented an apartment in Hurricane Utah. We got settled there and 3 months later the apartment we were in went into foreclosure. We got a letter on our door telling us to be out in 2 weeks. So we packed our stuff up yet again and we moved in with Caleb's cousin Larae and Adams house while we were waiting to close on our house. We bought a house and we will not be moving again for a LONG time.
We are so grateful to have friends and family to take us in and let us live with them or let us use things of theirs during this time. without these people we would not have been able to go through it as smoothly as we did. If you call that smooth. You guys can use us whenever you want. thanks so much for all of your help.

Peach Jam

Down here in Hurricane there is a church orchard right next door to us. It is said to have produced a million pounds of peaches this year. So this saturday Christy and I went and gleaned at the orchard. we got just a daiper box full of them which is plenty for our family. so today i spent the day making peach jam. nothing is better then peach jam and hot rolls.

Sick Weekend

My sister Christy and her husband Tucker came to visit this weekend. We always love when people come to visit. We had so much fun with them here. They got here on Friday night and we stayed up talking forever. On saturday we woke up and went to the best place in the world for breakfast, The Wagon Wheel. ( that is why they really came down here was for wagon wheel not to see us.) After that we just hung out and then we went bowling at night. The boys made dinner for us and then we woke up on Sunday and we all had upset stomach's and Chris was throwing up all day. It really sucked but we still had fun with them even if she was sick.

I always seem to take pictures on Sunday of the kids, we always have tons of time and they always look so cute on Sundays.

By the end gage was ready for a nap.

Lindsay my sister in law took pictures of the kids while we were in Boise a couple of months ago. they turned out so cute i just have to share them with you. I am so grateful that i have a family full of talents. I love when we get a chance to take pictures of the kids to capture their sweetness. THANKS LINDS!!! I owe you

Last night we had family home evening since on Monday was labor day and we had plans. So I wanted to teach Tippy about Helping and when mom and dad ask you to do something you say "OK I will do it". So Caleb read a story "The Red Hen" and then we colored place mats so Tippy can help set the table. She really liked doing the craft but Gage kept trying to get her paper. I think it is pretty cute when they fight.

P.S. Those of who who don't know, Gage went to the doctors last month and the doctor is really worried about is weight. She gave me a month to see if he would gain weight. If he doesn't then we will have to do a bunch of tests to see if there is anything wrong. She was so worried because i took him in to the doctors in April and he weighed 14 pounds at 6 months, then i took him in in august and he weighed 15 pounds at 10 months. so he wasn't gaining weight. SO we go in today to be weighed. i am a little nervous but i think he will do great.

On a lighter note, Gage took he first steps lasts night. it is pretty cute to see him trying to walk because he seems so small.

Peach Days and Football

Today was Peach Days, it was full of fun activities for the kids. We started off with the parade at 9:00. Tippy actually ran and got some candy.( for you who don't know Tippy she is the shyest girl ever) we are pretty proud she is getting out of her shell some what. Then we walked around the park and looked at the different booths, went on some rides and listened to some good old country music. There was a free craft that Tippy really wanted to do. She wanted to build a castle but it was too hard and long so we did the easiest craft and called it good. By the end of the afternoon our kids had enough of the little fair and we had enough of our cranky kids. We had a bunch of people over after Peach days to watch some football and let the kids play. The boys watched the game and like usual the girls just talked the whole time. It was fun to have our good friends over. After football we had a basketball game and we got smoked. I always forget that i have 2 kids and I try to do things that my body cant do anymore, leaving me sore and bruised for the next week. We had a fun and busy day but glad that it is all over.

On a side note.. Caleb's kids up at the ranch had a football game this weekend so we went and watched them play. It was so HOT that we had to leave a little early because i could not stand the heat anymore. It was fun to see some of Caleb's students and I love some of the rules that the Ranch has. for example since the boys get to play football if they have been good the girls get to chear lead if they are good. it is funny because they have to wear sweats and a black baggy shirt to chear lead in. It looked so hot but at least they get to do something, Right? We were pretty excited because we totally wasted a high school team and they are a boarding school who have different people playing every game.

Wilbur the pig

We bought a pig a couple of months ago when it was just a baby. We bought it for food storage but Tippy thinks that it is our new pet. She loves to go feed it and watch it play with the other pigs. She is so fuuny, today we went to see them and we were walking up to their pen and she kept saying "my nose, my nose". I said what is wrong with your nose, is it running? She just kept saying "my nose, it hurts". I was laughing so hard and i said does it stink out here? She said " yeah my nose hurts, its stinky" it was so funny. I am a little nervous for november when we kill it because Tippy is going to start asking questions about where her pig is and i dont really want to tell her that we are now eating him. i don think that will go over very well with her. Looks like we will just have to buy another one for her for a pet.

We Love Sundays

We have church at 1:00 and so we have a while to relax and play with the kids. Tippy loves playing with Gage, they go into her room and can play for ever with each other. it is really cute to see Tippy try to teach Gage how to rock a baby to sleep or play kitchen. She is such a sweet big sister. On Sunday we decided to try to get some pictures in before church it didn't really work out but here they are anyways. Gage is the smiliest little guy ever. I just love his cute smile

Well I have been wanting to start a blog for a little while now but have been a little busy and lazy lately. We are staying busy with Tyler and Gage and our family activities. I am always looking at my friends and keeping up with their blogs so I decided that i should try to keep up on our own little family and to start blogging. Hurray!!1
